This is a pretty simple diner/cafe in downtown Western Springs. I brought my son here for lunch. The menu was quite extensive. He settled for the kids corn dog with fries and baby carrots. I ordered the turkey club after the gentlemen taking my order mentioned their turkey was oven roasted and highly enjoyed by the clientele. I have to say, he was right. The turkey was flavorful and cut at just the right thickness. The veggies were fresh and the sandwich wasn't weighed down with mayo like many club sandwiches can be. The fries are super yummy and very similar to a famous place with golden arches. My son wasn't as much of a fan of the corn dog. He was all about the "corn" and less about the "dog". The hotdog did look a little pale and strange. Maybe it was a turkey dog. Free refills on drinks were a bonus too. We will definitely come back for a quick lunch. They also have breakfast which might be worth trying out.

This place used to be the best place to grab a bite to eat in western springs. The last few years however, it seems to be going down the tubes. I still come in once in a while because this place has so many memories hanging out when I was younger. But every time I come here now, it seems as though it gets worse each time. The food isn't terrible, I usually order a burger and fries. The burger this past time tasted like it had freezer burn. The fries were the best part of the meal. The fries have always been good, but I expect the meals to be better. This place could use some improvement.

I've been coming here regularly since I was 12 years old (I am 21 now). The space still feels the same and the original owners and cook are still there! Snackers has a very "dive-like" atmosphere which I think is pretty cool! The staff is always pleasant and offers suggestions when asked. The breakfast panini is amazing. It's a toasted sourdough sandwich with egg, pesto, tomatoes, and I think ham...the special comes with tater tots, too! I'll always be loyal to snackers!

Why go to McWendysKing when have a place like this nearby. Okay, there's no drive-thru, so you're going to have to get out of your car. But there are more food choices and the quality and quantity is head and shoulders above a focus grouped, corporately approved sandwich, nugget, salad, etc. And you can get a beer or a glass of wine.

Year by year, this establishment gets worse. It's bad enough that the restaurant closes on a whim when the manager wants to go fishing or take a vacation, find someone else to run the restaurant for a few days - it's not that difficult. Unreliable at best. Then there's the food, awful. VERY overpriced for NOTHING that tastes great. Every single time I go, something is wrong with my food. I've given this place several tries over the past 2 years and every single time I am more disappointed. The only two menu items I can actually enjoy are chocolate shakes and breakfast sandwiches - everything else is terrible. The only customers that this restaurant has are its loyal local (3 block radius) families around the area and the elderly community who doesn't want to go too far for coffee and/or lunch. This restaurant reduces its hours and days of operations more and more each year, it will be closed for good sooner rather than later. Let's put something of more value to the community in that spot.

I liked the "Mom and Pop" vibe I got from Snackers, so I decided to stop in. They had a pretty nice selection to choose from. My food was ready quick, the restaurant was clean, and my food was tasty. Would I go out of my way to stop at Snackers Cafe? Probably not. But if I find myself in the area, I may try something else from their menu.

Cute little place right by the train station. I was in a hurry on the way to an appointment but was starving and this was the only place I could find to eat. There were some specials on the wall and a regular menu to choose from - looked like mostly sandwiches, salads and soups. I opted for a corned beef sandwich and chips was was "A-OK" If I was in the area, I would stop here for lunch again but I probably wouldn't go out of my way.

Wow. A blast from the past walking in here. From 3rd - 8th grade I probably ordered more cheese fries than could fill this place. When my mom suggested eating here for lunch at first I thought she was joking, but I was pleasantly surprised. Normally, you remember things from your childhood as being way better than they really are. Not the case here. Snackers, while changed throughout the years, is definitely cleaner than I remembered and who knew they had things besides cheese fries on the menu? The same chairs and sun artwork on the wall (sadly no more quarter video game machines), but I was impressed with my basil pesto grilled cheese. My mom really liked her Ruben and our basket of curly fries was HUGE. This certainly isn't a destination, but it is a solid meal in downtown Western Springs (you really don't have much choice) and the food is decent with a good variety of fried foods, sandwiches and specials.

Stars: I give Snackers Cafe 4 stars because yes, I am a fan. I visited there yesterday and had what I was told is the signature dish, the 1/2 lb. hamburger. As a hamburger fanatic, I will tell you that this one was quite good. The burger itself tasted more steamed than grilled, (might have been grilled under a cover) which I really like, and the bun was excellent, hearty, but not overbearing. What stood out most of all was the veggies on the burger, they were perfectly fresh, lettuce was crisp, the pickles were sharp and had snap, and the onion, can I get an Amen! Oh the fries were fantastic too. Anyway, try this place out. Don't be scared off by what seem like high prices, the food is worth it. My son had a turkey wrap and my daughter had a turkey club, and they both said the food was great, real turkey breast (not processed) and fresh veggies. My only detractor was the restaurant's identity. It doesn't really seem to have one. I wasn't sure at first if it was sit down service, or if I had to order a the counter. There are two distinctly different dining rooms, one like Omega's and one like a hot dog place. I also did not know how I would eventually get my food (the cook calls out your number on a PA). They offered everything from Gourmet coffee and fresh bakery to hot dogs and burgers, salads and wraps, not to mention countless other items. I will go back, because I really enjoyed the food. That's what it's all about anyway, right?

Corned beef on rye was ok, but they asked if Ii wanted lettuce and I said no, But I got it anyway. But the bread was dry and would be stale pretty soon. And $1.25 for chips? Really? The coffee was cold, too.

As good as it gets!!! I would highly recommend this Cafe! If you're looking for a nice spot to grab something to eat, this is your place to go...conveniently located in trendy Downtown Western Springs right across from the train station. Outstanding service that makes you feel a part of the family rather than just another customer! Kid friendly, especially for the Superman ice cream! The chicken on the ranch sandwich and mini tacos are my personal favorite :). All together A++++ rating!

This place rocks definitely would suggest either the grilled chicken or the burgers.

My husband and I just bought a house a few blocks from Snackers (we're moving from the city) and we decided to try this place for lunch a few days ago. It was fantastic! I had the "Chicken on the Ranch" sandwich which was a breaded chicken fillet with parmesan ranch sauce on a fantastic bun. It was delish. My husband had a cheeseburger which he also really liked. The fries were hot and crispy. Free drink refills. What more can you ask for? I have a feeling we'll be back... a lot.

Great coffee (and lots of it), fast service, and excellent location across from train station.
